Workers 'unhappy with training'

Posted in Workshops on February 22, 2010 by Dawn Sillett

Recent research by online learning provider Citrix GoToTraining suggests that employees value provision of training – even though many are unhappy with the training they get. Main gripes:

Thankfully, my company doesn’t get involved in compulsory, irrelevant training (though maybe there’s an opportunity...to do it right), and content is updated regularly. Feedback is what keeps us trainers on our toes. If we don’t hear about something, then we may never know. What seemed at the time like a big setback has become a big insight, and very valuable. The research has also got me thinking again about the pointlessness of having ‘conscripts’ in a training workshop rather than ‘volunteers’. No prizes for guessing which I think will show the best return on investment.
